Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Dabbagh Welfare Trust to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Dabbagh Welfare Trust we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Dabbagh Welfare Trust to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Dabbagh Welfare Trust will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Dabbagh Welfare Trust receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

Virtues of Feeding a Fasting Person during Ramadan

Ramadan is a time when we show compassion and generosity towards our fellow Muslims, especially those who are less fortunate than us. Donate to Ramadan Food Appeal and help provide iftar and suhoor meals for the poor and the needy.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ emphasised the importance of feeding the fasting person during the month of Ramadan by saying,

“Whoever feeds a fasting person will have a reward like that of the fasting person, without any reduction in his reward.”

This is our chance to gather goodness and countless good deeds by just providing one meal for a fasting person.

Muslim Poverty Worldwide

Over 736 million Muslims worldwide live in poverty, which is more than 50% of the total Muslim population. Many Muslim countries are facing food crises due to a combination of factors such as droughts, floods, conflicts, economic instability, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Yemen, Somalia, and Sudan are among the countries with the highest levels of food insecurity in the world.

Food Crisis in Muslim Countries

Many Muslim countries are facing food crises that have led to food insecurity, malnutrition, and hunger among vulnerable communities, especially children and women. According to the World Food Programme, Yemen, Somalia, and Sudan are among the countries with the highest levels of food insecurity in the world. Urgent and sustained efforts are needed to address this global issue and provide food assistance and support to those in need.

Donate to Ramadan Food Appeal

Sponsor a Food Pack and Feed a Family for the Month of Ramadan

Sponsoring a food pack during Ramadan is an excellent way to contribute to the welfare of those who are fasting and in need of food assistance. Dabbagh Welfare Trust’s Ramadan Food Appeal offers food packs that can feed a family for the entire month of Ramadan. Each food pack contains essential food items such as rice, flour, sugar, oil, lentils, and dates. By sponsoring a food pack, you can ensure that needy family has enough food to break their fasts and provide them with the energy and nutrition they need to observe their religious obligations.

Sponsor a Community Iftar and Provide Freshly Cooked Food to Poor Muslim Communities

Sponsoring a community iftar is another way to support needy Muslim communities during the month of Ramadan. A community iftar is a gathering where Muslims break their fasts together, and it’s an excellent opportunity to show solidarity and compassion towards those who are less fortunate. By sponsoring a community iftar, you can help provide freshly cooked meals to poor Muslim communities who cannot afford to buy food or prepare iftar meals themselves. Dabbagh Welfare Trust’s Ramadan Food Appeal offers community iftar sponsorships that can make a significant difference in the lives of those who are struggling to make ends meet. Your support can help provide nutritious meals, a sense of community, and a source of hope and dignity to those in need.
