Afghanistan Emergency Appeal

Drought, economic collapse, rising global food prices and earthquakes have pushed millions in Afghanistan to the brink of starvation. With the help of funds raised through the Afghanistan Emergency Appeal, we are providing a lifeline to hundreds of families across Afghanistan.

£2 – Hot Meal

Don’t treat any donation as small. Even a small donation can make a big impact. Just £2 can provide nutritious meals for up to two people in Afghanistan.

£50 – Food pack for a family

Help feed an Afghan family by donating £50, ensuring they have access to essential food supplies. Not just in emergencies, throughout the year DWT supports many widows and poor households by providing food packs.

£100 – Financial Support for a Family

Your £100 donation can provide crucial financial support to a family in Afghanistan, helping them get through a few weeks with dignity and stability. Often these families spend this money to make improvements in their homes.

£300 – Water Pump for Afghanistan

For £300, you can build a water pump in Afghanistan. Most water pumps in Afghanistan don’t just provide clean water for one family. Rather due to the way homes are built in Afghanistan up to 10 homes benefit from our water projects.

Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Dabbagh Welfare Trust to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Dabbagh Welfare Trust we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Dabbagh Welfare Trust to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Dabbagh Welfare Trust will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Dabbagh Welfare Trust receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

There seems no light at the end of the tunnel…

These stats paint a stark picture of the poverty and struggles that Afghans are facing. Nearly half of the population is living below the poverty line, and a vast majority is facing food insecurity. This is due to a number of factors, including the ongoing conflict, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the economic crisis faced by the whole world since the start of the Ukraine war.

The situation is particularly difficult for women and children. Women are more likely to be poor and to lack access to basic services, such as education and healthcare. Children are also at high risk of malnutrition and hunger.

The international community has a responsibility to help the Afghan people.

Despite all this doom and gloom, a Muslim never lose HOPE in the Mercy of our Creator (Allah).

As a Muslim Charity, Dabbagh Welfare Trust will continue providing humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan and continue to put our efforts into making Afghanistan a peaceful and prosperous place. Donate to Afghanistan Emergency Appeal and help protect and save lives.

Afghanistan Winter Appeal

Winter is extremely harsh in Afghanistan. For millions of Afghans, winter is all about survival.

Afghanistan experiences severe winters with temperatures dropping below freezing, exposing vulnerable populations to life-threatening conditions. Many Afghans lack adequate shelter, and according to UNHCR, approximately 3.5 million people were internally displaced in 2021, making them especially susceptible to the bitter cold. On top of the freezing temperatures, during winter, access to food and fuel becomes even more challenging. As of 2023, over 40% of Afghans are facing acute food insecurity. Women, children, and the elderly are even more vulnerable to freezing temperatures and food shortages. Anyone who falls ill faces a tough road to recovery.

Donate to the Afghanistan Winter Appeal and help provide food and warmth to your brothers and sisters in Afghanistan.
